Please note: foundation subjects are taught in blocks and may differ between Half Term 1 and Half Term 2, as shown on the individual timetables.

 

The School Day

School hours: 8:45am – 3:00pm.

Doors open at 8.40am.

School gates open at 8.15am to allow children 25 minutes of additional play each morning. Children are the sole responsibility of parents & carers until the school day begins at 8.45am.

 

Arrivals

  • Gates open: 8:15am. Parents/carers may wait with children from this time; children must not be left unaccompanied.
  • Independent travel (Y5 & Y6): Pupils may arrive and leave independently with written permission from a parent/carer. Children are the sole responsibility of parents & carers until the school day begins at 8.45am.
  • Morning messages: If you need to speak to a class teacher, please speak to Mrs Lyon, Miss Murphy or Mrs Allen on the gate and they will pass on your message. Alternatively, call the office to arrange an appointment with your child’s teacher.
  • Entry to classrooms: from 8:40am; learning starts at 8:45am.
  • Registers: taken promptly at 8:50am.

 

Breaks & Lunchtime

  • Morning break (Y1–Y6): 10:30–10:45am.
  • OPAL play: We provide a variety of play equipment and resources as part of our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme. Multiple Play Team members are on duty to promote team games, support friendships and provide first aid where needed.
  • Lunch:
    • EYFS: 11:30am – 12:30pm
    • KS1 & KS2: 12:00 – 1:00pm
    • We operate free‑flow lunch for Y1–Y6, so children can choose when to eat without disrupting their play.

 

Assemblies

  • Celebration Assembly: every Friday morning.
  • Personal Development Assemblies (No Outsiders, Picture News, OPAL, Inclusive Attendance and Thrive): every Friday afternoon.
  • Class Assemblies: termly rota—parents/carers are warmly invited.
  • Themed assemblies: take place throughout the year.

 

End of Day & Collection

  • Gates open: 2:50pm for collection.
  • Home time: 3:00pm.
  • Where to collect:
    • Y1–Y6: from the main playground (hand‑over by class teacher).
    • EYFS: from the EYFS exits (enter via Easton Road for Nursery and Western Avenue for Reception).
  • Collection arrangements:
    • If someone else is collecting your child, please inform the school in advance.
    • Collectors will be asked to provide the family password.
    • No child may be collected by another child or by a sibling under 16.
  • Playground closure: Please vacate the playground by 3:10pm to allow extra‑curricular clubs and staff meetings to begin promptly.

 

Site Etiquette & Safety

  • E‑bikes/e‑scooters: not permitted anywhere on site.
  • Mobile phones: no mobile use anywhere on site.
