




Year 2
PE
Y2 have PE on Tuesday. Children wear their complimentary Roby Park PE kit to school – white logo tshirt, navy joggers and jacket. In the warmer months, children may want to wear their burgundy shorts.
Reading Books
Children are allocated multiple books weekly on Rising Stars Reading Planet as well as a physical book which is changed weekly, linked to their stage of Reading. Physical books are changed every Monday. We expect children to read for 10 minutes every night and then to complete the end of book comprehension quiz online when they come to the end of their book. You can access Reading Planet here.
Home Learning
- Children are to read for 10 minutes per night and bring their reading log in everyday, signed by an adult.
- Spelling and times table home learning will be set on a Monday via Emile and should be completed by Monday

Y2 Design Technology
This week in DT, Y2 have designed, created and ate healthy wraps that met a specific design brief. They considered different flavour combinations and the importance of using ingredients from different food groups to ensure the meal was balanced.

Christmas Family Dining
Our Christmas Family Dining event is back this year but with a few changes. This year, parents and carers can choose the day they want to attend and book their whole family on together so siblings can sit together. Head to Parent Booking to reserve your seats.

Another fantastic swimming lesson with @ELITE_Swim_UK the children explored different ways of moving through the water and practised floating. One child said, “I felt more confident in the water this week and can’t wait for next week.” #poolstoschools #RPPE

Today year 1 and @Year2RobyPark had their first after school @LEGO_Group club. The children enjoyed working collaboratively to create a variety of different structures from gardens to towers, whilst having fun along the way! #RPEnrichment #RPExtracurricular

Cut Your Carbon
We are taking part in CUT YOUR CARBON this November. Children will be coming home with checklists they can use to work as a family to cut carbon. Those who return their checklist will receive a certificate! @EcoSchools

Rock Kidz – Fri 10th Nov
Tomorrow is our annual @RockKidzUK Day which will be teaching the children a positive message about mental health, self esteem and wellbeing, Children can come dressed as rock stars or if they do not want to dress up they can wear their own clothes or uniform.

Everyday @RobyParkSchool is memorable but in a pool on the playground is unforgettable. Thanks to @ELITE_Swim_UK Y2 built confidence in the water by floating on their backs and putting their faces in the water. They played lots of games and had fun!

In English Y2 we’re given an illustration from their vehicle text and had lots of fun creating freeze frames imagining that they were in the picture. They then used clues from the book to predict what the story could be about. #readysteadywrite

Y2 loved finding efficient ways of adding 2 digit & 1 digit numbers. One child said, “When I was using the tens frames I noticed that I can use number bonds to 10 to help work out 18+5. It was quick & is now 1 of my favourite methods.”💡 #RPMaths
