To help alleviate financial pressure/s felt by families during this time of escalating living costs, applications can be submitted for the following provisions, funding permitted/available:

  • fridge-freezers
  • cookers
  • washing machines
  • tumbe dryers
  • beds/bedding

NHS Support

If you’re struggling with the cost of living, there is support available. The NHS offers low-income support for those struggling with costs such as travel or prescriptions. You do not have to be claiming benefits to apply for NHS support. If you’re employed with a low income, you may also be eligible for help. Click here for more information.

Struggling to Pay for Prescriptions?

Struggling to pay for your prescriptions? If you pay for your prescriptions, you could save money by buying an NHS Prescription Prepayment Certificate. You can pay a set price for prescriptions for 3 or 12 months, no matter how many prescriptions you need or what your financial circumstances are. Find out more here.

Warm Hubs

Local Warm Hubs are now open meaning our libraries are open 6 days a week to provide residents with a safe space to keep warm during the cost-of-living crisis.
⏰ 10am-5pm Mon-Fri & 10am-1pm Saturday
Residents can access a wide range of services or just meet up with friends to watch television and catch up. More information can be found here.

Help With Rising Energy Costs

If you’re struggling with rising energy costs, support is available. The council’s Emergency Support Scheme has been extended for residents who are struggling to top their prepayment meter. Click here for more information.
