Welcome to our Governors’ section

We have a strong and supportive Governing Body at our school, who take great pride in their role and responsibilities and make every effort to be heavily involved in school life.

Our Governing Body is chaired by Mr Mike Long and our Vice Chair is Mrs Kami Lester; both live within the local community and are passionate about securing quality outcomes for our pupils.

Roby Park Primary has one Full Governing Body Meeting per term, which covers both the business of Standards and  the business of Resources. All Governors attend both committees.

The term of office for our Governors is 4 years.

Our governing body’s remit is to provide strategic guidance for Roby Park Primary School as well as:
  • Setting direction: Ensuring the school has a clear vision, ethos, and strategic direction
  • Holding leaders accountable: Ensuring the school’s leaders are held to account for the school’s educational performance and staff performance
  • Managing finances: Overseeing the school’s financial performance and ensuring its money is well spent
Governors work closely with the school’s headteacher and senior leadership team to ensure that children receive the best possible education. They also help set the school’s goals and objectives, and monitor the school’s progress to ensure it’s meeting those goals.
