Promoting Positive Well-being and Mental Health for the Whole School Community

Wellbeing at Roby Park Primary School
At Roby Park Primary School, the health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff are a top priority. We are proud to hold the Wellbeing Award for Schools, administered by Award Place in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau (NCB).
Over recent years, we’ve strengthened our whole‑school approach to positive mental health and wellbeing – work that aligns closely with our vision to help pupils become caring, active citizens who achieve excellence.
- In October 2020, we achieved Wellbeing Award status (2020–23).

Mental Health & Wellbeing: How to Get Support
At Roby Park Primary School, mental health and wellbeing are central to our work with pupils, families and staff. We have several ways for children and parents/carers to ask for help – whether for themselves or someone they’re worried about. All concerns are handled sensitively and in line with our safeguarding procedures.
Ways to tell us you need help
- Online reporting (parents/carers & pupils)
If you have a concern about your child, another child, or yourself, please email:
📧 wellbeing@robyparkprimary.co.uk - Daily check‑ins (pupils)
Children can report on their own wellbeing on Zumos each morning. A member of staff reviews these check‑ins and offers support during the day as needed. - Worry Boxes & Worry Monsters (pupils)
Pupils can post a note about worries for themselves or a friend. Boxes are checked daily and followed up by the class teacher and/or a senior member of staff. - Pupil self‑referral drop‑in (pupils)
Pupils can self‑refer by coming to our wellbeing drop‑in every Wednesday with Mrs Lyon or Mrs Tucker. - Talk to any trusted adult (pupils)
Pupils can approach any member of staff they feel comfortable with about any concern.
Guidance for Parents & Carers
We take every aspect of a young person’s wellbeing seriously. While you are very welcome to contact us to share concerns, we strongly recommend you also speak to your GP about any worries regarding your child’s mental health so that the right medical advice and support can be arranged.
If you believe a child is at immediate risk of harm, call 999. For urgent mental health support, contact your GP or NHS 111.
Our Inclusive Community
We place great emphasis on the welfare of our whole school community. We provide support, information and guidance so everyone feels safe, valued and able to thrive. We celebrate our diverse and inclusive community and respect the faiths, beliefs and needs of all.
