Our Active Uniform
Our Active Uniform
At Roby Park, we want every child to feel comfortable, confident and ready to learn every day. Our Active Uniform supports an active school day, whether children are in the classroom, outdoors, playing, learning through movement or taking part in PE, forest school or sport.
An active uniform is also more inclusive for girls because it prioritises comfort, movement and choice, helping all children take part fully without restrictive or gendered clothing expectations.
Why We Use an Active Uniform
An active uniform helps us to:
- Promote inclusion and equality for all children.
- Support movement and physical activity across the school day.
- Ensure children are ready for outdoor learning and play.
- Keep uniform practical, affordable, and easy to wear.
- Reduce time spent changing clothes and increase learning time.
What Children Should Wear (Active Uniform)
To maintain a clear Roby Park identity while allowing flexibility, we have defined:

- Plain white crew‑neck T‑shirt
- Navy PE bottoms or approved options from the link below
- Suitable trainers of parents/carers choice
- Navy or white plain, unbranded socks
- Burgundy and/or white hair accessories

PE Days
Because children are active throughout the week, the active uniform will be worn on PE days so children are always prepared. Specific class PE arrangements are outlined on your child’s class page.
Inclusion, comfort and choice
We recognise that children feel confident in different types of clothing. Our approach supports:
- Choice in what children wear within the uniform guidelines.
- Clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for active learning.
- A school environment where children can participate equally—especially important for children who find traditional uniform options restrictive.
