Careers Week

Y4 have PE on Wednesday. Children wear their complimentary Roby Park PE kit to school – white logo tshirt, navy joggers and jacket. In the warmer months, children may want to wear their burgundy shorts.
Children are allocated multiple books weekly on Rising Stars Reading Planet as well as a physical book which is changed weekly, linked to their stage of Reading. Physical books are changed every Monday. We expect children to read for 10 minutes every night and then to complete the end of book comprehension quiz online when they come to the end of their book. 19To celebrate St George’s Day we had a fantastic visit from St George himself! We learnt about why we celebrate St George’s Day and the legend of him slaying the dragon. We then took part in a range of fun activities

16We had an amazing start the summer term with a day of play! The children discussed how they wanted to use the play equipment, focusing on potential risks & benefits before getting out & testing it for themselves. Lots of fun was had by all @OPAL_CIC #OPALSchools #RPPlay

18We are excited to see all of the chn back for an exciting start of term tomorrow. Doors open at 8.40am. Just a polite reminder to send chn into school in their school PE tracksuit, trainers and warm coat for our @OPAL_CIC launch day tomorrow.

17Thank you to our HSA & our staff for making Easter happen at Roby Park. They’ve collected Easter eggs & organised an Easter Egg Hunt that the children thoroughly enjoyed. Our Easter discos were a great success also & today there will be visitors to class with more egg surprises

17Today we had lots of fun attending our first kin-ball competition. The children showed great team work and sportsmanship as they competed against other local schools, the children were amazing and even left with some medals!

48Year 4 built their own torches out of a range of different materials We used the bottom of a plastic bottle to create the housing. Then we made the reflector out of the top half by wrapping it in tin foil. Finally, we had to add the electrical elements

39What a fantastic first session Year 4 had with @ELITE_Swim_UK! The children started by building their confidence in the water by blowing bubbles and floating. They then moved on to looking at how to use the front crawl and breast stroke #RPPE
41Tomorrow is our annual @RockKidzUK Day which will be teaching the children a positive message about mental health, self esteem and wellbeing, Children can come dressed as rock stars or if they do not want to dress up they can wear their own clothes or uniform.

27In science we investigated the effects different liquids have on teeth. We used our observation skills to record the effects different liquids had on eggs that had been soaked in a liquid for days. We then used a toothbrush to demonstrate the benefits of brushing.
28Spanish day In Year 4 we learnt how to say the numbers from 10-20. To ask and respond to the questions, what is your name? How old are you? Where do you live? We then focused on the map of Spain, discussing the different regions and key cities #RPMFL
