Careers Week

Y2 have PE on Tuesday. Children wear their complimentary Roby Park PE kit to school – white logo tshirt, navy joggers and jacket. In the warmer months, children may want to wear their burgundy shorts.
Children are allocated multiple books weekly on Rising Stars Reading Planet as well as a physical book which is changed weekly, linked to their stage of Reading. Physical books are changed every Monday. We expect children to read for 10 minutes every night and then to complete the end of book comprehension quiz online when they come to the end of their book. 9This week in DT the children have been designing, testing and making chairs that meets a specific design brief. They worked hard to ensure the chair was stable, secure and would hold the weight of baby bear from Goldilocks and the 3 bears.
7Y2 had a fantastic forest school session that led to lots of badges! We worked on our fire lighting skills before working collaboratively to create a piece of artwork using natural materials. We also used potato peelers to develop our whittling skills. #RPEnrichment @Littfoothq

6Y2 enjoyed exploring @Space_Station in their computing lessons this week. They identified & digitally drew items that astronauts need to survive and created algorithms that would be useful when living and working on the International Space Station.
7Y2 were democratic in their @SSCCTY meeting today. The children discussed the British Value respect & considered how they show & receive respect in school. One child said, “I feel respected @RobyParkSchool because it is a kind school and we celebrate differences.” #RPPSHE

15In history Y2 have been developing a better understanding of how transport has changed over time. They enjoyed putting pictures of different vehicles in chronological order while also looking at the differences & similarities between cars today & cars in 1896. #RPHistory

19We discussed animals that live in our oceans as part of #WorldWildlifeDay & some asked how big some of the animals were. So, along with @Year2RobyPark we did some research and used ourselves to make the length of blue whales and orca. We were amazed at their size!

48This week in DT, Y2 have designed, created and ate healthy wraps that met a specific design brief. They considered different flavour combinations and the importance of using ingredients from different food groups to ensure the meal was balanced.
