School Meals
Fruit & Milk
We’re proud to take part in the national School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme, which provides a free piece of fruit or veg every school day for pupils in Early Years and Key Stage 1. Deliveries arrive throughout the week so children can enjoy fresh produce at playtime.
Children may also bring a healthy snack from home (fresh fruit/veg or a similar healthy option).
👉 No nuts or nut‑containing products, please—we have pupils with severe nut allergies.
Children under 5 are offered a daily milk drink in line with the national Nursery Milk Scheme.
Snacks (KS1 & KS2)
Pupils in KS1 and KS2 may bring a healthy snack and water for morning break.
School Meals
Our hot dinners are cooked fresh each day by our school cook and provided by Knowsley LA. Menus rotate weekly on a three‑week cycle and are displayed in classrooms. Children are encouraged to choose a balanced meal.
Why choose a school meal?
- Nutritionally balanced and developed to be lower in fat, sugar and salt and higher in essential nutrients.
- Supports concentration and energy through the afternoon and encourages children to try new foods.
- High‑quality ingredients, with an emphasis on local sourcing where possible.
- Builds social skills as children eat together.
- Great value: £2.50 per day (Years 3–6); £1.85 per day (Nursery).
How to pay: Please pay in advance via the Arbor app.
If one week’s payment is missed, we’ll send a reminder (and follow up by phone). If two consecutive weeks are missed, we’ll ask that your child brings a packed lunch until the balance is cleared.
Packed Lunches (Healthy Lunch Policy)
We’re a healthy‑lunch school. Please do not include sweets, nuts, chocolate or fizzy drinks. A balanced lunch might include a sandwich/wrap/pasta, yoghurt, and fruit/veg, with water to drink. For ideas and tips, see the NHS Healthier Lunchboxes guidance.
Please label your child’s lunchbox clearly with their name.
