In our final swimming lesson, we focussed on treading water which is important for when we are in deep water. We have loved our swimming lessons and the opportunities for life skills they have brought us. #RPEnrichment

Year 4 was fortunate enough to land on a S.T.E.M day on our classopoly board as part of @IncAttendance this gave the opportunity to use our @ClassVR to visit a range of different mountains and volcanoes and much more

Forest school was a chilly one today! We started off outside using natural resources to make bug hotels before heading inside to practice our knots, make different shapes with ropes & also try to identify landmarks on maps of Liverpool towards our forest stamps!

We had a brilliant time in forest school this week! We collected natural objects from around the field and used these to make broom sticks that we had lots of fun with, we practiced our fire lighting and ended with marshmallows on the fire we built!
In forest school @Littlfoothq helped us to complete our @JuniorDukeAward safety challenge by showing us the key safety issues we need to be aware of when toasting marshmallows and when we are around fire We even had time for a sing song around the fire.

Children will get their challenges signed off by their Duke Leaders and earn 10 points per challenge plus an additional 100 points when they have completed all 7 challenges. That is an incredible 170 points in total for them and their team!

Today we had our very first forest school session with @Littlefoothq. We built some tripods and dens, practised starting fires, tied a clove hitch knot and survived in a survival tent. Everyone had a great time!! #RPEnrichment
Yesterday we enjoyed European Day of Languages! We continued our learning about pets and then we had a go at drawing and designing our very own Flamenco dresses.
Reception have loved celebrating European Day of Languages We dressed in red and yellow, coloured in Spanish flags, learnt to count to 5 in Spanish and even enjoyed a Spanish themed lunch!

Summer camp places can now be booked on Parent Pay. Sessions run from 9am – 3pm and cost just £12.50 per child, per day. Summer camp runs from Monday 22nd July – Friday 9th August. Children need to bring with them a coat, packed lunch, snack and water bottle.
Our Summer Fair is back this Friday 1-4pm! Children can wear their own clothes to school. Purchase your tickets on Parent Pay and collect your wristbands from the office for priority access. Join us for fun in the sun…

This week in Forest school we were building shelters and creating our own flag pole using natural resources. We worked on our map reading skills to determine distances between locations on a map. The children were so excited to receive their badges! #RPEnrichment
We have had a fantastic day at @Smithillsfarm today. Benji took us around and we were able to feed & meet the animals, watch the cows being milked, enjoy donkey rides & tractor rides to feed the animals! One of the children said “I’m having the best day ever!” #RPEnrichment

We started the term with a forest school session with @Littlefoothq. We practised our rope skills and worked collaboratively to build homes and find food for our insects! We ended the session by taking part in some colourful leaf printing! #RPEnrichment

As part of the Million Steps Challenge, @cashforkidsliv teamed up with publisher Simon & Schuster to offer all participating primary schools the chance to win a Library Pack of 20 books. We were very lucky to have had a little surprise treat this morning…some time spent on year 6’s end of SATs inflatables! Happy faces all round – what a fantastic way to end the week. One of our children said “This has been my favourite day ever!”#RPEnrichment
Children enjoyed using flowers to make natural perfume. We made some art using a rock to transfer flowers on to the fabric. We ended with some creative rope skills.
This week children went outside to paint and draw. We enjoyed being outside and creating collaboratively.

Y2 had lots of fun at their Easter disco and they even had a visit from a special visitor #RPenrichment #Easter
Thank you to our HSA & our staff for making Easter happen at Roby Park. They’ve collected Easter eggs & organised an Easter Egg Hunt that the children thoroughly enjoyed. Our Easter discos were a great success also & today there will be visitors to class with more egg surprises

Today we had a special visit from the Easter Bunny and Easter Chick! They took us on a very exciting Easter egg hunt around the school grounds! We followed all of the clues and found our way to some yummy Easter eggs! #RPEnrichment
Today we had a great session with @Littlefoothq. We learnt how to make a raft for our insect friends to float on. We placed it in a large puddle that we found and used bark from the trees for the insects to eat! We ended the session by safely warming our hands on our campfire
We had a fantastic last session! We worked with partners to plant some pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. The children have been fantastic this half term and have loved gardening club with Mr Lyon! We can’t wait to see it all begin to grow!

Today we have taken part in some digging and planting. We helped Mr Lyon dig out all of the weeds and then we learnt how to plant some potatoes! The children did a fantastic job at digging out their trenches for their potatoes!
For #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we focused on food chains! We looked at the different types of producers, consumers and predators from a range of habitats. We created fact files on food chains to share what we have learnt
During #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we sorted food chains, made our own and considered what can happen when a food chain is disrupted. We discovered the dangers on the food chain if animals go extinct, and how all different food chains are dependent on each other.
We discussed animals that live in our oceans as part of #WorldWildlifeDay & some asked how big some of the animals were. So, along with @Year2RobyPark we did some research and used ourselves to make the length of blue whales and orca. We were amazed at their size!

A little bit of rain didn’t stop us from completing @_thedailymile this week! We ran with our friends, at our own pace and most importantly returned to class motivated and ready for our learning!
The children have loved their first gardening club with Mr Lyon. We have planted carrots, cabbages and some broccoli! We can’t wait to see them start to sprout

This week Nursery and Reception worked collaboratively to create this amazing superhero city! They all worked very hard and supported each other. They made sure to include people, towers, trees, vehicles and obviously some superheroes!

Just look at the smiles! The children loved exploring the snow today. We made snow angels, snowmen and especially loved throwing snowballs at the teachers! It was so lovely to see the children enjoying themselves with their friends!
Thank you to parents & carers for sending the children to school ready for the weather. This meant we were able to have fun in the snow comfortably & safely. After play, one child said, “My cheeks hurt from smiling & laughing so much!”

This week we took part in our first ever goal-ball competition. The children really enjoyed trying a new sport and were so happy to win the competition and show their medals off back at school. Big thanks to @KnowsleySSP for organising such a fantastic event.

Year 4 have shown fantastic motivation and resilience since they started lessons with @ELITE_Swim_UK Today they focused on kicking. They began by using a kick board to develop their technique and endurance, then they applied this to the front crawl and back stroke #RPPE
In their final @ELITE_Swim_UK swimming lesson, Year 3 focused on swimming underwater, floating on their back and swimming backstroke. Year 3 have shown great resilience since week 1 and have enjoyed every second of their swimming sessions! #RPPE

We had a very magical visitor today in Year 4. The elf gave the class a very special message and shared the news that Cllr Walsh has secured funding for us to keep the swimming pool for an extra week. A massive thank you to Cllr Walsh #RPEnrichment
In our fourth @ELITE_Swim_UK swimming lesson, we saw how far we could swim without stopping. We also practiced floating on our backs and swimming backstroke too! #RPEnrichment #RPPE
For our final session, children practiced putting their heads under water to blow bubbles. They had to hold on to the side and use their legs to push away, building strength and confidence in the water.
On Friday, we were joined by Elfie the Elf to mark the beginning of December. He delivered a special letter to us from Father Christmas! #RPEnrichment
