Governors
Our Governing Body
We are proud to have a strong, supportive and highly engaged Governing Body at Roby Park Primary. Our governors take great pride in their roles, are visible in school life and are committed to helping every child succeed.
Leadership of the Governing Body
Our Governing Body is chaired by Mrs Kami Lester with Mrs Jennifer Bowles‑Smith as Vice Chair. Both live in the local community and are passionate about securing the very best outcomes for our pupils.
How We Work
- Meetings: The Full Governing Body meets once per term. Each meeting covers the business of both Standards and Resources, and all governors participate in these areas.
- Term of office: Governors serve a four‑year term.
What Governors Do
Our Governing Body provides strategic leadership and accountability for Roby Park Primary School. In practice, this includes:
- Setting direction: Establishing a clear vision, values and strategic direction for the school.
- Holding leaders to account: Challenging and supporting school leaders for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and for the performance management of staff.
- Overseeing finances: Monitoring the school’s financial performance to ensure that public funds are spent wisely and deliver value for money.
Governors work closely with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team to set ambitious goals, monitor progress and ensure all children receive the best possible education.
