To begin our new Art unit (Architecture) the children researched our focus artist, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. He designed buildings such as @LivCathedral and @BatterseaPwrStn , along with the red telephone box. #RPArt

In art we have been looking at different types of line, shapes and also colour. Starting with shape, we then moved onto lines and then combined our learning to create abstract art made up of overlapping shapes, colour and a variety of lines!

During Art, we have been exploring the work of @IanFennelly. We began our unit by researching our artist and his style. We sketched iconic Liverpool buildings, and practiced our use of watercolours. This allowed us to create our own piece based on the school building. #RPArt
This week Nursery and Reception worked collaboratively to create this amazing superhero city! They all worked very hard and supported each other. They made sure to include people, towers, trees, vehicles and obviously some superheroes!
For our final craft club session we created our own mini-me superheroes!

Our @HelpPicture this week was one Reception could really relate to, they love being artist. We discussed leaving art in different places and how we value each other’s art. It links with our British Value of Respect and Tolerance.

Year 4 had a fantastic forest school session with @Littlefoothq. We focused on achieving our blue and brown badges. To receive the blue badge you need to create a range of natural art pieces and to get the brown badge you had to identify natural materials #RPEnrichment
This week children went outside to paint and draw. We enjoyed being outside and creating collaboratively.
Children enjoyed using flowers to make natural perfume. We made some art using a rock to transfer flowers on to the fabric. We ended with some creative rope skills.
Y2 had a fantastic forest school session that led to lots of badges! We worked on our fire lighting skills before working collaboratively to create a piece of artwork using natural materials. We also used potato peelers to develop our whittling skills. #RPEnrichment @Littfoothq

We’ve really enjoyed our art lessons this week. We began by researching famous fashion designers and creating factfiles and then we learnt how to draw a correctly proportioned human body!
In art, we used what we have learnt about shape, colour and lines to create our final piece. We overlapped shapes and then added colour and line in an abstract way. You have worked so hard year 1, well done!

KS2 craft club has seen us make exciting festive creations. Last week we created stain glass Christmas cards and this week we built upon those skills making stain glass lanterns. Next week we look forward to making a Christmas wreath each

class for our step up morning. The children were respectful and responsive when discussing UN Rights of the child whilst we created our class charter.
