We stumbled across a suitcase this week, filled with clues to help us to make predictions about what our new English book may be about! Our ideas were fantastic and we used the clues to explain our predictions!
Today Year 4 took on a definition and synonyms challenge against the clock using the vocabulary from the example text the children used an iPad to find their definitions and a range of synonyms #RPEnglish

We immersed ourselves in our new vehicle text, A River by @marc_martin, by making predictions based on what we could hear, see & touch. One group said, “We think the story is set in a jungle because we can see large leaves, a tiger & a parrot.”

This week we found some clues linked to our new book in Literacy! We found a whale along with the clues. We thought of some ways to help the whale. One child said “I will look for his family” and another said “I will make sure he gets back to the ocean!”
