In Forest School today, Year 3 had great fun working on their map reading skills to find different locations and symbols, gathering wood, identifying different leaves from different trees and working on their fire-lighting skills.
Working collaboratively, Y5 improved their knot tying skills, and developed their designing and building skills. It was good to be outside. #RPEnrichment

We had a fantastic forest school session with @Littlefoothq We went on a hunt to see who could find the most snakes and then had great fun using a technique to stay warm by cosying up underneath a shelter! We ended the day playing a game of predator and prey! #RPEnrichment
We had another fantastic session with @Littlefoothq We learnt essential skills to survive in colder conditions The children built a shelter out of natural materials, used a tarp to build an overhead shelter and practiced how to get under a cover in an emergency #RPEnrichment
Reception had a fantastic session with @Littlefoothq today. We started with a fun game, we had to collect all of the ropes and defend the base. Then we tied knots and showed resilience moving and untying the knots. #RPEnrichment
In geography today the children worked collaboratively to use maps of the playground to find clues left by the mischievous elf. They did a fantastic job of orientating their maps to help find the clues
In Geography, we compared rural and urban areas using maps. We found our school, and then noticed similarities and differences between the two types of areas. #RPGeography @SILPrimary

We had a fabulous trip to @MuseumLiverpool! We had the opportunity to explore the museum, find out about trade links to Liverpool and take part in a workshop, which taught us about imported and exported goods. This linked to our learning in Geography. #RPEnrichment #RPGeography
We discussed animals that live in our oceans as part of #WorldWildlifeDay & some asked how big some of the animals were. So, along with @Year2RobyPark we did some research and used ourselves to make the length of blue whales and orca. We were amazed at their size!
During #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we sorted food chains, made our own and considered what can happen when a food chain is disrupted. We discovered the dangers on the food chain if animals go extinct, and how all different food chains are dependent on each other.

Year 5 were given the task of discussing and grouping natural resources. Once completed we learned about fossil fuel, renewable and non renewable resources. #RPGeography
During world wildlife day, we explored how our oceans have become polluted over time. We discussed the impact this has on our wildlife and explore ways we can help save our oceans.
Reception started the morning with a fantastic session with @Littlefoothq. We had to search for bugs and work collaboratively. Then we practised making our own fires using stones and sticks. We had a real fire and practised using the fire lighters. #RPEnrichment
In geography we started our topic on mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes. In this lesson the children researched key facts about famous mountain ranges and found out how they were formed #RPGeography
Year 5 used atlases to locate countries around the world. We identified those countries that: have a high and low amounts specific natural resource and those countries that export high levels of their non-renewable natural resources. #RPGeography
In Geography today, we researched different climate zones such as continents they can be found in, temperatures and precipitation levels. #RPGeography
In geography this week the children have been using atlases to locate the 7 continents and the 5 oceans of the world. We also played some fun games to recap compass points and the countries of the U.K #RPGeography
For #WorldWildlifeDay we learnt about oceans and waters. We located waters that surround the UK, created posters to stop plastic pollution and save our oceans before creating under water scenes with wax after seeing the amazing colours in oceans around the world!
Today we had a great session with @Littlefoothq. We learnt how to make a raft for our insect friends to float on. We placed it in a large puddle that we found and used bark from the trees for the insects to eat! We ended the session by safely warming our hands on our campfire
We had a wonderful morning spent with @Littlefoothq in forest school From identifying trees, compass points, bug hunts, camouflaging ourselves, fire lighting & knot practice, we had a very busy morning with lots of stamps towards our forest school badges! Well done year 1!
