8Today we had a special visit from @AlldaysFarm and had the chance to hold, pet, feed and brush a pony, sheep, goats, chickens, a chinchilla and even a snake! all the children were very brave and gentle with the all of the animals. Well done year 1🌟 @CAHKnowsley #RPEnrichment
7FOREST SCHOOL 🌳 We learnt how to do overhand knots, matched natural objects to colour swatches, practiced letters and numbers with rope and finally collected natural objects to make our very own magic wands! 🍂🍁🌷 #REEnrichment

7We worked together to recreate scenes from the book ‘Old Bear’, using what we have already read to show how the characters may be feeling and what they would be doing. We even rescued Old Bear from high up in the classroom and were very excited!🐻
7In English we have been immersing ourselves in our new book ‘Old Bear’. Various items had been left in our classroom for us to explore and we used these to help us to come up with some fastastic predictions about what could happen in our story!🐻

7We had a brilliant day today at @MuseumLiverpool learning all about toys over time, materials they may are made of and worked together to order toys from oldest to newest! Well done year 1 for a fantastic day!🌟✨ #RPEnrichment #RPHistory
7SPANISH DAY Today was a day of all things Spanish! We learnt colours and numbers, played interactive games, matched colours with words, danced, sang, drew self portraits in the style of Picasso and even completed spanish colour by numbers! 🌟 @LanguageAngels_ #RPSpanish
7Year 1 Today in PE our aim was to explore changing direction and dodging.
8A massive thank you to 4 times Olympic Medalist @BeckAdlington who visited us today to highlight the importance of learning how to swim. We were able to hold & see her medals and have the opportunity to ask lots of questions about the Olympics and also her swimming career 🌟
7We have been looking at animals in science and today we learnt that we can group animals based on their diet. We worked hard in groups to discuss what animals eat and to then identify which are carnivores, omnivore and which are herbivores 🐒🦁🐮 @DevelopExperts #RPScience

7We have been looking at animals in science that are both wild and those that are pets. We discussed these with our friends, grouped them and then worked collaboratively as a class to complete the interactive quiz on what we have been learning 🐮🐒🐶 #RPScience
8Today we wore yellow for #WorldMentalHealthDay2023 and spoke about what we can do to make ourselves and people around us happy. We explored @ZumosUK , enjoyed some meditation and created positive posters to make people smile! @YoungMindsUK #HelloYellow #RPWellbeing 🌟💛

8In continuous provision this week, we have used areas in our outdoor and indoor classroom for independent learning. Accessing activities linked to our learning and working collaboratively with our friends to challenge ourselves and consolidate learning we have done in class 🌟💜

8Our workshop with @AnimalsTakeOver today allowed us to meet and hold some of the animals we have been learning about in science -amphibians, birds, reptiles and mammals! We spoke about their habitats, diets and sleeping habits too!🐍🦉🐸🦎🐹 #RPScience #RPEnrichment
7In art we have been looking at different types of line, shapes and also colour. Starting with shape, we then moved onto lines and then combined our learning to create abstract art made up of overlapping shapes, colour and a variety of lines!

6WOW! Today we had our first swim session with @ELITE_Swim_UK We worked on entering the water, using our arms to move around, floating on our backs…and had some noodle races too! We were very brave and showed lots of confidence and resilience! #RPEnrichment #RPPE
6Tomorrow is our annual @RockKidzUK Day which will be teaching the children a positive message about mental health, self esteem and wellbeing, Children can come dressed as rock stars or if they do not want to dress up they can wear their own clothes or uniform.

9We are taking part in CUT YOUR CARBON this November. Children will be coming home with checklists they can use to work as a family to cut carbon. Those who return their checklist will receive a certificate! @EcoSchools

Today we raised money for @DiabetesUK and showed our support by wearing blue! We spoke about what diabetes is, that anybody can get it and most importantly, what it means for those who have it #WorldDiabetesDay #diabetes #RPEnrichment
3Today in PE our aim was to copy, remember and repeat actions that represent the theme. As our theme was pirates we finished with a class favourite WALK THE PLANK! Well done year 1!

1We have been looking at humans and our senses and today was taste! We tried lemon juice, lettuce, popcorn, chocolate and apple before discussing its taste and rating it too! We discovered that everyone has different tastes! Next up…smell! #RPScience

1Each week our confidence is growing in the water and our smiles say it all! Today we worked on moving around the pool with floats, practised floating on our backs and also had a go at breast stroke and backstroke too! You make us very proud!
