We had a special @HelpPicture this week. We looked at how poppies have changed over time. Children think it’s a great idea that poppies will now be plastic free. We also enjoyed talking about which materials would be best for poppies last longer.

Year 5 have really engaged with the #Iwill programme that has been delivered by Liverpool Foundation. They have developed a fun run to raise awareness about being a buddy not a bully. As part of this awareness, y5 have designed and created T-shirts and tote bags.

SMOOTHIES! After tasting fruits and veg in our last lesson, we were ready to make a smoothie with our favourite ingredients! We made sure we washed our hands, practiced cutting safety and followed a recipe to create our very own smoothies
We discussed animals that live in our oceans as part of #WorldWildlifeDay & some asked how big some of the animals were. So, along with @Year2RobyPark we did some research and used ourselves to make the length of blue whales and orca. We were amazed at their size!
During #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we sorted food chains, made our own and considered what can happen when a food chain is disrupted. We discovered the dangers on the food chain if animals go extinct, and how all different food chains are dependent on each other.

Thank you to the National Justice Museum for putting on a fantastic courtroom workshop on cyber bullying. The children had the opportunity to talk to real life judges, take on different roles within a courtroom and complete a mock trial #RPEnrichment

Children will get their challenges signed off by their Duke Leaders and earn 10 points per challenge plus an additional 100 points when they have completed all 7 challenges. That is an incredible 170 points in total for them and their team!

Over the last few weeks in Nursery we have been learning about bed time routines, some of us have ordered our bed time routine and discussed our favourite part. We have also been matching amounts to numerals using pegs!
