In History this week, we began our new Transport unit by looking at how transport has changed over time. We looked at boat, plane, train and car travel and added them to our timeline. #RPHistory
In history we are looking at the monarchy. Today we began discussing chronology and then used base ten to represent the ages of some of the Royal family that we have been learning about. This helped us to see who has been alive for longer! #RPHistory @SI_Liverpool
Year 3 had a great time at the Museum of Liverpool looking at different forms of transport. We even got to experience the Liverpool Overhead Railway and a carriage too! #RPHistory
Y2 we have been learning about Kings and Queens from the past & today we had a visit from Queen Elizabeth I thanks to @PastProductions. The children loved learning about royal etiquette, Tudor dancing, jousting & what life was like during the Queen’s reign. #RPHistory @SILPrimary

To celebrate #StGeorgesDay2024 we had a visit from @PastProductions and St George himself who taught us lots about who he is. We turned ourselves into dragons that St George wanted to slay, went on treasure hunts and acted out key words linked to his story. #RPEnrichment

In History, we looked at the role of Ancient Egyptian scribes. One of our tasks was to decode and write our own hieroglyphics and we realised just how difficult the ancient language was! #RPHistory

History was all about maths today! Y5 learnt : The Maya were one of the first civilisations to use the concept of zero; they counted in base 20 and they used dots and bars to represent 5s and 1s. Children then created their own number line to 20. #RPHistory

We had a brilliant workshop with Toys in Schools today! We began looking at different kinds of toys that were all made from wood before becoming toy makers! We drilled, hammered, decorated and added wheels & legs to create our very own wooden toys! Well done year 1#RPEnrichment
We had a fantastic Romans workshop with @HistoricWksps. We began by learning different battle formations and tactics, then we became archaeologists and explored different artefacts , finally we looked at a Romans marching pack and played Roman board games #RPHistory
In History this week, we have been learning all about the Stone Age and Bronze Age. We were able to analyse different artefacts and consider what they were before making a poster inspired by cave paintings all about the Stone Age. #RPHistory
We had a fantastic workshop with @HistoricWksps where we uncovered the truths about the Viking lifestyle! We enjoyed battling with spears and shields, playing traditional Viking board games and looking at artefacts. #RPEnrichment #RPHistory

We have had a fantastic Stone Age workshop today with @HistoricWksps! We observed different artefacts including animal skins, sketched some different bones, made our own cave paintings and even made some arrows! All of Year 3 had a fantastic day! #RPHistory
To end our fantastic day we did some archery! We hunted wild animals just like hunter gatherers and lots of us would be having deer and badger for dinner… some maybe even deli bar! #RPHistory
