For our final session, children practiced putting their heads under water to blow bubbles. They had to hold on to the side and use their legs to push away, building strength and confidence in the water.

41In our Forest school session, children practised their fire lighting skills both independently and as part of a team. They needed to build a fire that lasted at least 8 minutes. There was success for one young man who managed to complete a Trucker’s Hitch for the first time
22The children have loved their first gardening club with Mr Lyon. We have planted carrots, cabbages and some broccoli! We can’t wait to see them start to sprout
31A little bit of rain didn’t stop us from completing @_thedailymile this week! We ran with our friends, at our own pace and most importantly returned to class motivated and ready for our learning!

36We discussed animals that live in our oceans as part of #WorldWildlifeDay & some asked how big some of the animals were. So, along with @Year2RobyPark we did some research and used ourselves to make the length of blue whales and orca. We were amazed at their size!
32During #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we sorted food chains, made our own and considered what can happen when a food chain is disrupted. We discovered the dangers on the food chain if animals go extinct, and how all different food chains are dependent on each other.
36For #WorldWildlifeDay2024 we focused on food chains! We looked at the different types of producers, consumers and predators from a range of habitats. We created fact files on food chains to share what we have learnt
31Today we have taken part in some digging and planting. We helped Mr Lyon dig out all of the weeds and then we learnt how to plant some potatoes! The children did a fantastic job at digging out their trenches for their potatoes!

We had a great session with @Littlefoothq. First we went on a bug hunt! We then showed great resilience through using our hand-eye coordination to carefully hammer nails into wood! We ended the session by collecting sticks for our own fire #RPEnrichment

Today we had a great session with @Littlefoothq. We learnt how to make a raft for our insect friends to float on. We placed it in a large puddle that we found and used bark from the trees for the insects to eat! We ended the session by safely warming our hands on our campfire

28We have had a fantastic day at @Smithillsfarm today. Benji took us around and we were able to feed & meet the animals, watch the cows being milked, enjoy donkey rides & tractor rides to feed the animals! One of the children said “I’m having the best day ever!” #RPEnrichment
14This week in Forest school we were building shelters and creating our own flag pole using natural resources. We worked on our map reading skills to determine distances between locations on a map. The children were so excited to receive their badges! #RPEnrichment
20Our Summer Fair is back this Friday 1-4pm! Children can wear their own clothes to school. Purchase your tickets on Parent Pay and collect your wristbands from the office for priority access. Join us for fun in the sun…
School will finish at 12.45pm on the day so all children can attend with their families.
EYFS children should be collected from the Easton Road gate and KS1 & KS2 from their Western Avenue exits. All children and families should make their way around to Easton Rd for entry to the fair. All children are to be supervised by their adults.

Summer camp places can now be booked on Parent Pay. Sessions run from 9am – 3pm and cost just £12.50 per child, per day. Summer camp runs from Monday 22nd July – Friday 9th August. Children need to bring with them a coat, packed lunch, snack and water bottle.
19Y2 have been looking forward to their end of year trip & it didn’t disappoint. We had lots of awesome fun @BubblesPlayNB & were then able to enjoy the fabulous weatheron New Brighton beach with a delicious ice cream #RPEnrichment #NewBrighton #RNLI

13We have loved the start of our careers week. We have discussed lots of different careers and can’t wait to meet our visitors. We have explored our provision, becoming doctors, nurses, builders, archaeologists, firefighters and even scientists! #RPEnrichment
